The Master in Performance of Early Music is a professional degree and its contents are designed to provide the ability to become a professional performer.
The full name of the master is Musicology, Music Education and Interpretation of Early Music.
Esmuc offers the professional specialty, focusing on the performance of early music.

Link to a video (youtube or similar) with a performance of at least 15 minutes, with several fragments of different styles of different works, or sufficiently differentiated parts of a complex work, with the instrument with which they make pre-registration.
Applicants will receive the results of their admission in the email address specified upon pre-registration.
The student must take 2 compulsory modules (OB), 1 compulsory specialty module (OB esp) and 2 optional modules (OP).

The Master includes 25 hours of individual instrument class and 10 hours of individual monitoring by the supervisor of the Master’s Thesis, distributed as follows:
The Interpretative Praxis of Ancient Music module includes 15 hours of instrument class
The Project/Internship and Master’s Thesis module includes 10 hours of instrument class and 10 hours of individual monitoring by the supervisor of the thesis.
To receive specialized training in the field of historical instruments through individual or group lessons and instrumental ensembles.
To acquire a level of relevant knowledge within a defined relationship between Musicology and Early Music, sharing strategies and sources.
To enable a personal educational journey through a flexible curriculum tailored to the needs of today’s professional world related to performative Music and Musicology.

In addition, the Early Music and Musicology faculty of the ESMUC, as well as the Musicology faculty of the UAB and external guests, give classes in the collective sessions.
Classes for the Master in Early Music Interpretation will be taught from October 2022 to june 2023, on Fridays and Saturdays.
Occasionally, instrument classes might be scheduled on other weekdays or Sundays.
It is aimed to students with a Bachelor Degree in Early Music or in classical and Contemporary music as well as to professionals who want to specialize in the interpretation of early music and musicological research at the highest academic and performance standards.
In some cases, the Master’s Admissions Committee determines that the candidate cannot access the Master’s directly and that he / she needs to take the Leveling Course.
This course consists of 30 hours which will include 15 hours of individual instrumental lessons, participation in Esmuc’s chamber projects or large groups and in seminars and courses organized by the Department of Early Music.
