ESMUC Junior


ESMUC Junior is a specialised ESMUC program, designed to offer advanced training to youngsters with high musical abilities between the ages of 8 and 17. Classes are scheduled on Saturdays, once a month, for a total of 24 teaching hours.

The classes are taught by the ESMUC faculty.

It is recommended that the participants’ regular teachers attend these individual classes. ESMUC will certify the attendance of teachers from other schools to the sessions so that these hours count as training hours.

Calendar and class hours

Classes take place on Saturdays, from 10:00 to 13:00.
The concerts take place at the end of the classes, from 13:00 to 14:00.

Instrumental modalities

For the 2024-25 academic year, the following instrumental modalities will be offered:

  • Piano

  • Violin

  • Cello

  • Flute

Any other proposal of a candidate with another CiC instrumental specialty will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

  • Improvisation / Instrumental Ensemble

  • Auditions / Concerts at ESMUC and the Museu de la Música

Activities for families and teachers
  • 1 Conference / talk for parents and teachers.

Student selection process

You will be asked to record a video, of recent date and a duration of approximately 15 minutes, with pieces of at least 2 different styles. It must be uploaded to any platform (Vimeo, YouTube, Dropbox…) and send the link to

ESMUC Junior participants from previous courses must also send the video.

Registration is done online, from 6 to 26 May, so that candidates can access the programme the next academic year.
