Education

He studied Performance, Composition, Philology, and Musicology in Spain, France, Switzerland, and Germany. He earned his Ph.D. in Musicology from the Universitat de València with the thesis "La construcció del significant en l'obra d'Olivier Messiaen".

Concerts

As a performer, he was a member of the International Academy of the Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt) and worked personally with Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez, premiering numerous works both nationally and internationally, and collaborating with ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, musikFabrik, and Ensemble Modern Frankfurt. With these groups, he has made recordings and performed in concerts around Europe and Asia under the direction of Pierre Boulez, Peter Eötvös, Enno Poppe, Johannes Kalitzke, Lucas Vis, and Beat Furrer. He received fellowships from the Kulturfonds Rhein-Main, the Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt, and the German Federal Foundation for Culture, among others.

Publications

He has published articles in specialised journals on history, literature, aesthetics, semiotics, and musical analysis, and has translated several volumes of musical essays into Catalan and Spanish for Quaderns Crema – Acantilado and Riurau Editors.

Teaching

As a musicologist, he has been invited to give lectures and courses at universities such as Sorbonne in Paris, the International Menéndez Pelayo University, or the Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. He was a professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de las Islas Baleares, and currently teaches at the IEA Oriol Martorell in Barcelona. Since the 2019-2020 academic year, he has been a part of the faculty of the Department of Musicology at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya.
