Eduardo Tancredi
Department of Jazz, Flamenco, Popular and Traditional Catalan Music
Uruguayan pianist and composer trained at the Berklee College of Music.
He has recorded several CDs, often featuring his own compositions. Tancredi's album "Ongoing Dreams" was chosen as the best album in this category in 2002 by "The Boston Globe."
On numerous occasions, he has received awards for his outstanding performance in the Latin jazz music scene.
During his long stay in the USA, he collaborated with numerous musical groups as a pianist. He also leads "Bandon 33," where musicians like Antonio Sanchez, Jerry Bergonzi, Miguel Zenón, Donny McClasin, Ole Mathisen, Renato Thoms, and Fernando Huergo, among others, have participated. He has a long list of performances in America and Europe, sharing the stage with internationally renowned artists. His music blends a wide variety of Afro-Latin rhythms with the harmonies and melodies of modern jazz.
During his time in the United States, he served as a piano and harmony teacher at the Berklee College of Music.
Since 2003, he has resided in Barcelona and is a professor at ESMUC.
