Scholarships and Grants (Bachelor’s Degree)

Grants

Financial aid for the families of students of higher artistic education in music and official masters who are in a particularly vulnerable situation for the academic year 2023-2024. Grants will be awarded on a non-competitive basis and on a one-off basis without generating any subsequent commitment. The application procedure, processing and awarding of the financial aid is regulated by the following rules.

Requirements

General

  • Having enrolled in the higher level of the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya for the 2023-2024 academic year.

  • Being a Spanish national or a national of any Member State of the European Union. In this case it will be necessary to accredit the condition of resident person. With regard to non-EU students, the provisions of article 9.1 of Law 4/2000 on the Rights and Freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration will apply.

  • Those who already have an official degree or equivalent level to that of ESMUC are excluded.

Financial

  • Proof of being included in family income brackets 0 and 1 according to the current parameters.

  • Having paid the enrolment fee for the 2023-2024 academic year in full or in part.

  • Not being in receipt of any other public or private aid with the same purpose.

Academic

  • Participation in more than 75% of the teaching activities.

  • Not having received any reprimand for non-compliance with the rules of behaviour required of ESMUC students.

Level of income and documentary accreditation

In order to have access to these grants it is necessary to accredit that the family is included in Section 1 of the family income according to the following table:

The applicant student may prove that he/she fulfils this condition by means of the following:

  • The economic crediting of the MATRC procedure or

  • If applicable, a photocopy of the personal income tax return for the year 2022 and/or

  • Provision of a photocopy of the receipt of other social benefits.

The student applicant must sign the declaration of responsibility included in the application form, certifying the accuracy of the information provided.

Application

Please fill in the attached form and send it to the Directorate General of the School together with the corresponding supporting documents. The application form must be signed and can be handed:

In the event that additional documentation is required, a period of one week will be allowed.

Assessment and monitoring committee

In order to accept the applications submitted and assess their suitability, a Grants Committee is set up, made up of the Directorate General, the Deputy Directorate General for Administration and Services – Management, the Deputy Directorate General for Organisation and Services – Academic Management, the Assistant to the Directorate General, a representative of the Works Council and a representative of the School Board, appointed by the Directorate General.

The Commission will select – among the applications received – those that are eligible for support with the order of priority.

In view of the nature of these grants, the persons forming part of the Commission are under an obligation not to disclose any information relating to the applications and the ensuing deliberations.

Financial aid allocation

Grants will be allocated on the basis of successful applications.

Documentary forgery

In the event that an application contains deliberately false information, the applicant student will automatically be reprimanded and may be subject to expulsion from the school.

Timeline

3 November 2023: deadline for receipt of applications. 
10 November 2023: notification of errors or documentary requirements.
17 November 2023: correction of errors or provision of required documentation. 
11 December 2023: Commission meeting and proposal.
12 December 2023: Resolution and nominal allocation of grants.

Scholarships

These scholarships are processed by the centre. For more information and registration inquiries, contact the Academic Secretary or the ESMUC Erasmus Office.

Scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports 
  • For students in official studies (Spanish nationals and foreign individuals with a bank account in Spain).

  • In the case of perusing non-university higher education studies, these scholarships can be granted for mobility or residence purposes, but cannot be requested or granted to cover tuition.

  • The application must be submitted on the Ministry of Education’s website.

  • Starting from February/March, the School receives notifications from the Ministry and publishes the list of scholarships that have been awarded.

  • The granted amount is directly deposited into the student’s bank account.

  • The centres do not have decision-making powers regarding the awarding of these scholarships: they only carry out the corresponding procedures.

Scholarships from the Anna Riera Foundation 
  • Created by the private sector and exclusively intended for 4th-year students in the performing fields at ESMUC.

  • These are excellence-geared scholarships, compatible with any other scholarship or aid, designed to facilitate exclusive dedication to study.

  • A maximum number of 8 scholarships may be awarded, with a total maximum grant of 4,000€ each.

  • The application must be submitted between late April and mid-May. Auditions to determine the awarding of said scholarships are held in mid-June.

Scholarships from the European Commission for the Erasmus+ Mobility Program
SuperArte Scholarships from the Fundación Grupo Sifu
  • Up to 10 artistic scholarships for the training and development of music and dance for individuals with functional diversity. More informaion available.

Scholarships from the Management Entity for Music Performers and Executant Musicians (AIE)
  • 5 AIE Scholarships of 5,000€ (each), for undergraduate and master’s degree students.

NOVA scholarships for students with disabilities

Managed by the Prevent Foundation, this scholarship programme offers support to students with disabilities in two ways:

  • Financial contribution to help with the maintenance and continuity of studies.

  • Opportunity to participate in a professional orientation and training programme to facilitate the transition from the academic environment to the professional world.
