What does an “official” master’s degree mean?

The official master’s degrees are recognized by the State (MECES 3). To access the public function, the bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate must be official.

ESMUC Master’s Degrees

What does an “ESMUC” master’s degree mean?

The own master’s degrees have the endorsement of the academic institution that issues the degree. Companies do not take into account whether the degree is official or not when hiring a professional. They care about the skills required by the labor market within their sector.

University Official Master’s Degrees

What does a “university” master’s degree mean?

These master’s degrees are carried out jointly between the ESMUC and other Catalan universities.

The Master of Musicology, musical education and interpretation of early music is official and takes place at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

The Master of Music as an Interdisciplinary Art is offered jointly by the Universitat de Barcelona, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, the Institució Milà i Fontanals (CSIC) and the ESMUC.

Graduate studies

What does graduate studies mean?

Graduate courses usually have half the ECTS credits of master’s degrees. If the students demonstrates the necessary skills and aptitudes to successfully complete the graduate course, they can access the studies without having a bachelor’s degree.
