I want to do an Erasmus program abroad

The Erasmus program provides the students enrolled in European universities stay in another European university (from three months to a full academic year) and the subsequent recognition of studies abroad. This recognition of studies will be done following the learning agreement agreed with the Esmuc before leaving.

The Erasmus + program

The Erasmus + Program is part of the Europe 2020 strategy and the Rethinking Education strategy, and encompasses all education, training, youth and sport initiatives. In education, it includes all levels: school, vocational training, higher education and adult education.

The Erasmus + program includes the mobility of students from Higher Education Institutions in the 28 Member States of the European Union, the countries of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway), Turkey and the Republic of Macedonia. Switzerland is excluded from the Erasmus + program, so students who apply for it will not be able to receive financial aid from the European Union or MECD grants, but they will receive funding directly from the Swiss-European Mobility Program.

The student pays the tuition fee at the home university and enjoys free tuition at the host institution, where he is entitled to the same services that local students. The reception center must provide the necessary information on the courses offered, accommodation possibilities and registration procedures.

Carrying out the exchange at the destination university will not imply the right to obtain the degree at the institution.

  • Be enrolled during the 2020/21 academic year and enroll during the 2021/2022 academic year. Please note that if a student is selected to go on an exchange during the 2021/22 academic year and throughout the 2020/21 academic year, he / she obtains all the credits of the plan that are necessary to obtain the degree. Once the file is closed, it is not possible to reopen it for any new registration or recognition, so you will not be able to enjoy the exchange place during the 2021/22 academic year, because you will no longer be available to enroll in, an indispensable requirement to be an exchange student.

  • Have passed, at the time of departure, the number of credits equivalent to the first year.

  • Have not previously completed an Erasmus study or internship stay of more than 9 months, as up to a maximum of 12 months per study cycle within the Erasmus program, depending on the Erasmus stay counter.

  • Medical and civil liability insurance coverage.

The SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education) distributes financial funds from the European Union to grant scholarships for the students participating in the Erasmus program, both in their mode of study and in the mode of internships. Scholarships will be awarded according to the same academic criteria used during the selection process to cover all the funds awarded. Beneficiary students will receive a grant from the Erasmus + program by bank transfer in two payments:

  • The first payment after leaving (December or March) for an amount of approximately 70% of the total. To access the first payment, you must have signed the grant agreement, collected the scholarship credential and delivered the certificate of arrival. All three conditions are required to receive payment.

  • The second payment, for the remaining amount will be made when the student has returned and provided all the documentation for the end of the stay. As indicated, this transfer will take effect once the student has provided the certificate of stay signed by the destination university (which must also clearly state the start and end dates of stay: day, month and year) have completed the report on the stay.

For the month of start and the month of end of stay, which are usually not full months, the day of departure and return will be taken into account and will be paid in proportion to the actual days of stay of those months (calculating on the basis that one month equals 30 days).

After the stay, if they have not provided the required documentation, they will be required to return the amount paid to them.

Compatibility with other grants

Erasmus grants from EU funds (SEPIE Scholarship) are incompatible with other grants from the European Community. If you receive unemployment benefits or other scholarships for exchange stays abroad, please contact the grant department to determine whether or not they are compatible with the Erasmus + scholarship. If it is not, your participation in the Erasmus + program will be done without receiving financial support.

Submission of applications

To apply for an Erasmus + grant, you must register in EASY DREAM APPLY, a management program shared by most European music higher education institutions.

Each student can only submit up to 3 applications to participate in the program.
