The Jornades ab Sentits are a space for encounter and reflection around music, its meanings, and the multiple ways of understanding, interpreting, creating, and transmitting it. Created at ESMUC in 2018, the Jornades are guided by musical meaning and hermeneutics, understood from an open, interdisciplinary perspective closely connected to musical practice.

The Jornades bring research, performance, creation, and pedagogy into dialogue, fostering exchange among performers, educators, creators, musicologists, researchers, students, and other professionals interested in thinking about music beyond the usual boundaries between disciplines.

Since their beginnings, the Jornades ab Sentits have sought to connect theoretical reflection with musical experience and to embrace diverse approaches to listening, analysis, performance, teaching, and creation. For this reason, they combine academic formats with other proposals in which music and reflection share the spotlight, such as papers, round tables, listening sessions and commented concerts, performances, or other presentation and debate formats.

Each edition is structured around a theme or guiding concept that invites participants to address questions related to music and its meanings from different perspectives. This plurality of viewpoints turns the Jornades into a space for dialogue between disciplines, practices, and institutions, with an open vocation aimed both at the ESMUC community and at external participants from national and international contexts.

Throughout the different editions, the Jornades ab Sentits have consolidated themselves as a space to think, listen, interpret, and share musical experience, combining research rigor with the living reality of artistic and educational practice.
