Education

Yuri Volguin, born in Russia, received his education at the State Conservatory of Novosibirsk under the guidance of Professor Zakhar Bron, graduating Cum Laude.

Concerts

In 1978, he became a soloist with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Novosibirsk while also teaching at the Special Music School for young talents. He performed as a concert artist on recital tours, as a soloist with orchestras, and in chamber groups, including the "Trio Ural," organised by the prestigious concert production and agency "Filharmonia" throughout the Soviet Union. These artistic activities earned him several awards in various national competitions.

Awards

Yuri Volguin has been awarded the Arts Prize by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for his outstanding pedagogical and artistic work.

Teaching

In 1981, he began his teaching career at the Higher School of Music in the Novosibirsk State Conservatory, where he served as General Coordinator and professor in the Professional Advancement Courses for teachers in the Ural Region (from 1984 to 1995). He taught at the School of Music for young talents in Ekaterinburg and was appointed full professor of the Violin Department at the State Conservatory of Music in Chelyabinsk in 1984.

In 1996, he was invited by Professor Zakhar Bron to join the Violin Department at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid as an Assistant Professor, and he settled in Madrid.

Since 2006, he has been a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, and combines his work at these two important music education centres with artistic performances in Spain, the Russian Federation, Sweden, Portugal, and France. He often participates in international festivals and competitions as a jury member and guest artist.

Professor Volguin's extensive teaching experience, supported by the professional quality of his students over his thirty-six years of teaching, has earned him international recognition, leading to a continuous collaboration with European music education institutions.
