Joaquín Sánchez

Almargen, Málaga (1984). He is a musician, communicator, and educator. Since he was child, he has enjoyed dismantling things and inventing new creations. He is a tireless seeker of new sounds, instruments, and music from different cultures. He plays clarinets, harmonicas, flutes, and various wind instruments.

Career

He is a collaborator on TVE2's programme "La Aventura del Saber" and co-founder, alongside Miguel Guinea, of Vibra-Tó, a project focused on building instruments using every day and recycled materials. With Vibra-Tó, he has been conducting workshops and performing concerts worldwide for many years. As a musician, he has toured with artists such as Pasión Vega, Javier Ruibal, Rubem Dantas, etc. Among his personal projects are Hispanistán, a band that blends Mediterranean and Balkan jazz, and Zopli2, a wind with Clara Gallardo. In the world of Flamenco, he has collaborated with figures like Jorge Pardo and Montse Cortés, both in recordings and live performances. He is the artistic director of the "Ventolera" Wind Music Festival in Montefrío (Granada) and is a frequent organiser and advisor for numerous courses and masterclasses.

Teaching


  • He is a Music Teacher graduate from the University of Granada.

  • Since 2014, he has been a professor in the Flamenco Master's programme at ESMUC.
