Education

He pursued his musical studies in orchestra conducting with Ros Marbá in Barcelona, where he established the contemporary music ensemble Barcelona 216. After working as Assistant Conductor of the Orquesta Nacional de España, Pierre Boulez invited him to be his assistant at the Ensemble InterContemporain in Paris.

Recordings

He has recorded for labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Harmonia Mundi, Naxos, Telarco, and Ircam. The monographic album of G. Gershwin with Michel Camilo and the OBC received the Latin Grammy and the Diapason d'Or for the complete works of Pablo Sarasate with Tianwa Yang.

Awards

He has received several awards, including the Ojo Crítico from Radio Nacional de España and the Ciutat de Barcelona award. He is a member of the Reial Academia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi, nominated by Joan Guinjoan. Additionally, the Government of Finland honoured him with the title of Knight of the Order of the White Rose.

Teaching

He has been invited as a guest professor of orchestra at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the Oslo Conservatory, and Musikene. Currently, he is a Contemporary Ensemble and Orchestra professor at ESMUC.
