Education

Erica Wise began her musical studies at the age of five, and her cello studies at the age of nine when she lived in Göttingen, Germany.

A graduate of the Peabody and New England conservatories, she later studied baroque cello at the CNR in Paris with a Harriet Hale Woolley Fellowship.

His main mentors have been Ronald Thomas, Colin Carr, David Simpson, Larry Lesser and Gary Hoffman. He has also received great influence from the teachings of Ferenc Rados

Concerts

A firm defender of contemporary music, she has premiered works both nationally and internationally, either as a soloist or as a member of Funktion, by composers such as Yuval Gotlibovich, Joan Magrané, Octavi Rumbau, Tristan Perich, Óscar Escudero, Jakob Kirkegaard or Hanne Darboven

Career

Erica is a founding member of the Dalia Quartet and Funktion. As a soloist he has worked with conductors Michael Stern and Keith Lockhart, among others, performing at the Aspen Music Festival and Jordan Hall in Boston, MA.

A passionate performer of chamber music, she regularly collaborates with artists such as Kennedy Morreti, Lluïsa Espigolé, Cuarteto Quiroga, members of Cuarteto Casals among others

Teaching

As a teacher, she has given courses in Spain and the United States.

Currently, she teaches cello and chamber music at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu.
