Eduardo Martínez

Education

He trained as an oboist at the Conservatory of Valencia and in various European schools under the guidance of Thomas Indermühle and Heinz Holliger.

Concerts

He is actively involved in orchestral activities with various ensembles, including the "Orquesta Ciudad de Valladolid", "Joven Orquesta Nacional de España", "European Community Chamber Orchestra" and the "Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias". Since 1991, he has been the principal oboist of the "Orquesta Ciudad de Granada".

He was also a resident member of the avant-garde music group "Klangforum Wien" in Vienna and participated in the “World Orchestra for Peace” in 2003.

In addition to his work as an orchestral musician, he has been a member of numerous chamber groups, covering a wide repertoire from Baroque to avant-garde music. He has performed in various venues, such as the "Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik", "Festival de Granada", "Festival de Segovia", "Festival der Avantgarde Essen", and the "Auditorio Manuel de Falla de Granada", etc. He was invited by the French Oboe Association to perform at the 10th Congress of Oboists held in Bayonne, France. He also participated in the Miradas music cycle in Bogotá, organized by the Spanish Embassy, where he performed Richard Strauss's Concerto with the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.

Recordings

Under the VERS record label, he has recorded oboe and piano sonatas by W. A. Mozart and romantic works for oboe and piano with pianist Riccardo Cecchetti. He has also recorded with the Ensemble Matisse for ARSIS.

Teaching

His strong commitment to education has led him to teach courses and masterclasses in various places. Since 1997, he has been regularly invited to teach at the "Cursos de Especialización Musical de la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares." Currently, since 2001, he is a professor of oboe at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, and he has also taught at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona.
