He is a philologist (Universitat de Barcelona, 1986), with a Master's degree in Research in Language and Literature Didactics (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 2013). From 2007 to 2014, he was a member of the Teaching Innovation Seminar of the Research Group on Language Teaching and Learning (GREAL) at the Department of Language and Literature Didactics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
