Serrano Angel

Education

Born in Bunyol (Valencia), he began his musical studies at the "La Artística de Bunyol" Musical Society and at the "Sant Rafael" Conservatory in the same town, under the guidance of Professor Salvador Albert Tarragó. Later, he moved to the "Mestre Vert" Conservatory in Carcaixent, studying with Professor Salvador Albert Palop, and then to the "José Iturbi" Conservatory in Valencia with Vicente López. He completed his musical studies at the "Joaquín Rodrigo" Superior Conservatory in Valencia under the tutelage of Professor D. Leopoldo Vidal Estrems.

He furthered his education at the "Sweelink Conservatorium" in Amsterdam with professors Willem van der Vliet and Peter Masseurs, obtaining the "orchestra specialist" certificate.

Career

He is an Assistant Soloist at the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC), and is frequently invited to perform with the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, the Youth Orchestra of the Basque Country, the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, and the Utrecht Conservatory (Netherlands).

He premiered in Spain Behac Munroh, Concerto for Trumpet and Trombone by Christian Lindberg, under the direction of the composer himself, and received the Euterpe 2005 award for the recording of Concerto for Trumpet No. 1 by Valencian composer Andrés Valero Castells, for Worldwind Music.

Teaching

He is a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and teaches Orchestral Repertoire for trumpet at the Centro de Estudios Superiores del País Vasco, Musikene. He has also conducted numerous specialisation courses throughout Spain.
