Education

Adolf Pla is especially grateful for the teachings of his early teachers Magda Caballé, Teresa Segarra, and Josep Maria Martí Aragonés. Later, he studied at the Conservatori Superior de Música de Barcelona with maestro Miquel Farré, at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest with maestros Rádos Ferenc and Nádor György, and at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg under the guidance of Prof. Peter Hollfelder. In Germany, he obtained the MeisterKlasse Diplom and was distinguished by the Robert Wagner Foundation.

Concerts

His performances have been critically acclaimed. In 1985, he was selected as the Spanish representative at the "First International Meeting of Young Performers of Europe." He has given recitals in various countries around the world, such as: Sala Glinka in St. Petersburg, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Radio and Television Auditorium in Luxembourg, Metropolia Auditorium in Helsinki, Gran Teatro in Havana, Alltech Fortnight Festival in the USA, or Palacio Iturbide in Mexico. He has collaborated with the Mozarteum Quartett from Salzburg and has conducted various orchestras (Orquesta Municipal de Caracas, Orquestra Nacional de Cambra d’Andorra, Orquesta Nacional de Bolivia, among others). He has undertaken several tours and recordings with flutist Bernat Castillejo.

Recordings

He has a well-established discography with labels such as La mà de Guido and Ars Harmònica, which includes the complete works for piano by Frederic Mompou, as well as works by other composers such as Schumann, Ravel, Granados, and Toldrà He has produced recordings for Canal Clásico from Vía Digital, RNE, Catalunya Ràdio, Radio San Petersburgo, TVE, TV3, TV Costa Rica, TV Perú, and TV Uruguay.

Publications

His in-depth exploration of Frederic Mompou's works has allowed him to present much of this repertoire in around twenty countries, both in solo programs and alongside other composers. This experience led him to work specifically on this composer, resulting in the book "Frederic Mompou, l'etern recomençar" and the complete recording of his piano works.

He is also a regular collaborator in the media (Catalunya Música, Revista Musical Catalana, Revista Cultural of the AECID, among others). He has given lectures on music in various institutions (Consorcio Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo de Barcelona, Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatorium in Saint Petersburg, universities in Brasilia, Costa Rica, National de Chile, and Transylvania University in the USA, among others).

Teaching

He has been a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya since 2004.
