Specific Competences

Learning outcomes (general objectives)
- Recognise bodily movement as a creative and expressive medium and as a pedagogical tool complementary to musical performance.
- Develop listening skills from sensory, emotional, creative and expressive perspectives.
- Discover musicality and creativity through one’s own body movement, both with sound and in silence.
- Collect, study and explore different approaches and tools for body movement.
- Be able to compose and improvise using the body in space, in relation to sound and to other participants.
- Acquire a basic understanding of the relationship between body movement and music, considering space, rhythm, coordination, different movement qualities, expression, and interaction with audiences and fellow performers.
- Develop tools for interdisciplinary artistic practice.
- Demonstrate autonomy in continuing professional learning and in developing pedagogical practice by selecting and producing teaching materials aligned with established learning objectives.
- Integrate and systematically relate the contents of the course with those of other music subjects and, where appropriate, with non-musical disciplines.
- Extend and complement knowledge of the specialisation through familiarity with current pedagogical trends and practices, particularly those based on cooperative models and creative, interdisciplinary exchange of ideas.

Contents
Exploration and investigation of personal movement in relation to sound and silence, movement and stillness. Development of a range of movement tools. Development of body awareness. Use of a variety of movement techniques and styles from contemporary, classical and traditional dance in relation to the appropriate musical repertoire. Development of creativity through interdisciplinary artistic practice. Study of musical and bodily expression from a sensory perspective, including analysis using Laban Movement Analysis (LMA). Exploration and development of personal movement in relation to composition and improvisation in space and time. Use of anatomical knowledge and movement resources. Development of rhythm, coordination, stage presence and communication skills. Experimentation with improvisation, choreography and the creation of short music-and-movement works, both individually and collaboratively. Development of teaching resources for classroom use. Application of different compositional techniques with pedagogical purposes. Relationship between composed materials, their teaching applications and their intended educational objectives. Development of general musical abilities through instrumental practice, together with expressive and communicative skills through the instrument.
Teaching methodology
