Itinerary of Simultaneity in Music and Primary Education

The Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) offer a simultaneous pathway for the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, with a specialization in Music, and the Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Artistic Education in Music. This dual degree will allow students to develop their interpretive and pedagogical skills.

The program includes a specialization in the interpretation of classical and contemporary music, within the orchestral instrument modalities. The possibility of including other instruments from classical and contemporary music will be explored based on the requests received.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education and the Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Artistic Education in Music have the favorable accreditation of AQU Catalunya. The Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Artistic Education in Music is considered equivalent to a university degree.

To whom it is addressed

The dual degree is aimed at students interested in developing their professional career in primary education and music. The goal is to train individuals with diversified, interdisciplinary skills capable of facing the challenges currently demanded by the educational and performance worlds.

Access requirements

To access these studies, applicants must pass the entrance exam for the specialization in Classical and Contemporary Music Interpretation of the Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Artistic Education at ESMUC, along with the university entrance exams (PAU), as well as the personal aptitude tests (PAP) to gain admission to the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education at the Rovira i Virgili University.

A total of 15 places are offered per course.

Organisation

The simultaneous pathway is completed in 10 semesters (five academic years, 414 ECTS). It will take place at the URV campuses in Tortosa (4 days a week) and at the ESMUC in Barcelona (one day a week). For more information, you can consult the study plan on the ESMUC website.

In order to carry out the recognition of credits within the simultaneous pathway, students must enroll in both educational institutions: URV and ESMUC.
