Xavier Coll

Education

Xavier Coll completed his guitar studies, obtaining his degree at the Conservatori Superior de Música de Barcelona.

Subsequently, he attended numerous Master Classes with José Tomás, David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, and Leo Brouwer.

He has also pursued studies in historical instruments (theorbo, Spanish vihuela, baroque guitar, etc.), basso continuo, and early music with Rolf Lislevand, Hopkinson Smith, and Jordi Savall.

Concerts

He has performed concerts throughout Spain, France, Italy, England, Switzerland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Romania, the United States, Central America, South America, and Egypt, particularly with the duo he forms with flutist Montserrat Gascón. Together, they have recorded six CDs to date.

Recordings

He has also recorded a CD featuring music by Ferran Sor with mezzo-soprano Margarida Lladó, and has participated in the recording of the complete works of Joaquín Rodrigo for the EMI label.

Teaching

Xavier Coll is a professor at the Escola Luthier in Barcelona and at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya.
