Susana Egea

Education

Doctorate in Performing Arts from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with the thesis "Foundations for the development of an acting technique for the operatic stage" (2016).

Bachelor's degree in Romance Philology from the Universitat de Barcelona (1996). She is also trained in music, dance, and theatre.

Publications

Author of titles such as La interpretació actoral en òpera.
Anàlisis d’una especificitat (Artez Blai, 2012), for which she received the International Artez Blai Award for Performing Arts.
or Stanislavski, Meyerhold, Chaliapin: La interpretación operística (A.D.E., 2017).

Career

She is an actress, stage director, and researcher in the Performing Arts.

As an actress, she has worked with directors such as Adolfo Marsillach, Calixto Bieito, Fernando Madico, Hansel Cereza, Antonio Simón, Hasko Weber, or Malena Espinosa.

As a stage director, she has focused particularly on interdisciplinary performances.

Teaching

She is a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona.
