O'Callaghan Pep

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Guitar and Performance of Popular Music (ESMUC), as well as a Bachelor's Degree from Berklee College of Music (Boston, Massachusetts).

Concerts

He has performed with musicians such as Marc Miralta, David Xirgu, Joan Monné, Ion Robles, Victor and Juan De Diego, Matthew Simon, Rai Ferrer,among others. He has played at prestigious venues like Palau de la Música, Jamboree, Nova Jazz Cava, Festival de Jazz de Vic, Peralada, etc.

Recordings

Recordings as a leader: "Tot Just" (1996), "Port O'Clock" (2000). As a musical director and performer: Enric Llucià Group (2014). As an arranger: "Oxitocina" (2012) and "Nòmades" (2014) by Guillermo Roma.

Research

The study of methodologies for analszing modern music and jazz. Research in the field of methodologies for Ear Training and its application to improvisation.

Awards

RNE Award for the Best Catalan Jazz Album (2000), and Best Soloist Award ("ex-aequo" with Publio Delgado) at the Festival de Jazz de Vic (2001).
