Education

After studying in Castellón and the Basque Country, he moved to the Netherlands to complete his musical education.

In Amsterdam he obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees with a specialization in Percussion and Orchestral Timpani. He was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (GMJO). Additionally, he has been part of the Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam, where he has been collaborating since 2014, and has had the privilege of working with teachers such as M. Jansons, D. Gatti, A. Nelsons, S. Bychkov, H. Blomstedt , Sir J.E. Gardiner, among others. He also enjoys a good musical relationship with the Camerata RCO and the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest.

Career

Marc Aixa Siurana is originally from Torreblanca, Castellón. It was in this small town where he took his first musical steps.

He is currently a timpani soloist with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra / Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. Regarding his pedagogical activity,

Aixa is a professor at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA).
