He studied with María de Macedo in Madrid, Janos Starker in Bloomington (USA), and Natalia Gutman in Stuttgart. He holds degrees from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, the Indiana University (USA), and the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart.
He has been a soloist with the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española (RTVE Orchestra), and the Orquestra de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC).
He has performed with conductors such as P. Rundel, L. Foster, K. Penderecky, T. Guschlbauer, SR. Harutyunyan, A. Ros Marbà, E. García Asensio, and G. Isabel Ramos, with various national orchestras, and with the Czech Chamber Orchestra, among others.
He has played alongside great musicians like Natalia Gutman, Misha Maisky, Christian Zacharias, Viviane Hagner, and the Brodsky Quartet. Alongside pianist Marta Moll d’Alba, he forms the Duo Cassadó.
Currently, he records for the Warner Classics record label.
He has received awards in various European international competitions.
He has been a professor at the Master's in Orchestral Studies program at the Universidad de Oviedo, as well as in the Orquestra de l’Acadèmia del Liceu in Barcelona. Since 2003, he has been a cello professor at MUSIKENE and ESMUC.
