Education

He holds a PhD in Art History and Musicology from UAB.

Concerts

He regularly performs concerts and recitals in more than forty countries, appearing in prestigious venues such as Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Auditorium of Radio France in Paris, the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Lutowslasky Auditorium in Warsaw, and XXI Century Auditorium in Beijing.

He has collaborated with various orchestras as a soloist, interpreting the main guitar concertos in the repertoire, including performances with:

Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Simfònica de Balears, Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Simfònica del Vallés, Orquestra de Cambra Nacional d’Andorra, Orquestra de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana, Orquestra de Cambra del Gran teatre del Liceu, Conservatorio Nacional de la Paz, Royal Oman Simphony Orchestra, Filharmonia das Beiras, Tampere Chamber Orchestra, Lublin Simphony, Sinfónica de Medellín, Orquesta de Cámara de la Laguna, among others.

Recordings

He has recorded with labels such as Harmonia Mundi, Naxos, Columna Música, Knobloch, Ópera Tres, and J.S. Records. Composers such as Sergio Asad, Salvador Brotons, Agustí Charles, Manuel García Morante, Marco Smaili, Gerard Drozd, and Stein Eide have dedicated works to him.

  • Outstanding Graduation Award at the Oscar Esplá Conservatory in Alicante.




  • First prize at the V Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Infanta Cristina (Fundación Guerrero1989).




  • First prize at the Concurso Nacional Permanente organised by JJMM (1988).




  • Awarded at the Andrés Segovia Competition 1987 (Palma de Mallorca).




  • Also awarded at the Andrés Segovia Competition 1989 (Almuñécar).




Teaching

He has been a professor at the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco (Musikene), the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (CSMA), and the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears.

Currently, he is a professor of guitar and chamber music at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya.

He is regularly invited to give masterclasses and lectures at various music centres in countries such as Germany, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia (Eafit), Croatia, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, the United States, Finland (Sibelius Academy), France, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway (National Conservatory), Oman, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom (London Guildhall School), Russia, Sweden (Stockholm Royal Conservatory), Chile, and China (National Conservatory, Beijing).
