Learning outcomes (general objectives)

1. Develop an overall understanding of the possibilities offered by technology in music and learn to use a range of computer-based tools relevant to music.
2. Use the different technical devices involved in sound production.
3. Select, configure and operate correctly the different technical devices involved in sound production, developing the practical skills required to carry out a basic sound recording session.
4. Learn flamenco guitar transcription using computer-based tools.

Contents

Transcription of flamenco guitar scores, tablature notation, specialised transcription tools, and notation of melismatic ornamentation.

Teaching methodology

Teaching and learning activities include lectures, group work sessions and student presentations. Independent work includes composition projects, recording practice and other individual or group activities.

Assessment systems

Assessment is based on continuous assessment, supported by diagnostic assessment and culminating in summative assessment, which determines the final grade.

Continuous assessment is carried out through a range of assessment instruments linked to specific learning activities, including participation and classwork, classroom presentations, assignments, compositions and practical work, submission of written assignments, and written, oral or listening examinations.
