ESMUC hosts the EuroMAC 11 music analysis conference
We are pleased to announce that EuroMAC 11, the Eleventh European Music Analysis Conference, will take place in Barcelona from 7 to 10 September 2026. Most venues will be held at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC).
This major event, promoted by several scientific societies within the European Network for Theory and Analysis of Music (T&AM), comes to the Iberian Peninsula at the initiative of three of its member organisations in the region: ATAM (Associació de Teoria i Anàlisi Musical), SATMUS (Societat d’Anàlisi i Teoria Musical) and SPIM (Societat Portuguesa de Investigació em Música), through its Music Theory Research Group.
Since its first edition in Colmar in 1989, EuroMAC has brought together scholars, researchers, and professionals in music theory and analysis from around the world. This eleventh congress will once again serve as a key forum for fostering dialogue on the present and future of the discipline, considering both its historical legacies and its intersections with contemporary thought and practice.
