Manel González-Piñero has a PhD in Economics and an MBA (Universitat de Barcelona), in addition to having a degree in Business Administration and Management and in English Philology (UB).
He is Director of Innovation at the Centre de Recerca en Enginyeria Biomèdica (CREB) at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Director of Strategy at XartecSALUT. He is also a professor of Economics and Innovation at the Facultat d’Economia i Empresa de la Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and at the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya).
He is the academic co-director of the Summer School in Management of Creativity (HEC Montreal and Universitat de Barcelona). He teaches classes and collaborates on projects related to innovation and organizational culture.
He also collaborates on projects linked to cultural and creative companies with governments, start-ups and new cultural projects.
He has worked in the business development area of the Biotechnology Research Center of the National Research Council of Canada (Montreal, Canada) and at the University of Technology Sydney (Sydney, Australia), as well as a researcher at Inland Norway University (Lillehammer, Norway) and Kunsskapsverket - Nasjonalt Kunnskapssenter for kulturelle næringer.
He is a professor of Economics and Innovation at the Facultat d’Economia i Empresa de la Universitat de Barcelona (UB) where he teaches Màster en Gestió Cultural i al grau de Comunicació i Indústries culturals. He is also the academic co-director of the Summer School in Management of Creativity (HEC Montreal and University of Barcelona).
At ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) he teaches the subjects of Màster de Management Artístic las asignaturas de Innovación y Proyecto. In the management degree he teaches Innovation Management.
He is also invited to teach at other universities and business schools.
