Recordings

He has made more than 150 recordings (for which he has received several awards), and has given lectures and master classes at various international centres.

Research

In addition to his activity as a performer, he also conducts ongoing research in the field of Hispanic Music, specifically in the area of the organology of wind instruments and their relationship with vocal music. He has published various works in this field.

Career

He is a member of the groups Hesperion XXI and La Capella Reial (conducted by Jordi Savall) and served as a soloist bassoonist in the prestigious chamber orchestra Cambra Teatre Lliure de Barcelona and the Ensemble Zefiro (conducted by Alfredo Bernardini). He regularly collaborates with the most representative ensembles of early music.

He is a member of the Societat Catalana de Musicologia.

Teaching

He is a professor of historical bassoon and other subjects in the Master's programme of Early Music at ESMUC, where he was the head of the Early Music department (2001-2008), and general manager (2008-2018). He also teaches at the Schola Cantorum in Basel and the Conservatori Professional de Badalona, where he has been tenured since 1984 and currently serves as its director.
