Education

He is a composer, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from the Universitat de Girona (1997), a second degree in History and Science of Music from the University of Granada (1999), and a doctorate from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2006). He served as Head of the Musicology Department from 2011 to 2021.

Research

Since 2001, he has actively participated in ethnomusicological fieldwork led by Dr. Jaume Ayats in various Mediterranean countries. He is currently leading the research on the Pau Casals Orchestra (2012-2014).

Publications

He regularly writes for the magazine L'Avenç (from 2006 to the present) and, together with Joan Gay, is finalizing a study on the connection between music and Impressionist painters based on the biography of the singer Llorenç Pagans (Cervià de Ter, 1833 - Paris, 1883).
