Education

Alba Roca studied violin with Jesús Badia, Eva Graubin, Sergio Prieto, and Corrado Bolsi. She specialised in the performance of early music and baroque violin with Emilio Moreno, and attended courses in baroque performance at the Department of Early Music from the CNR Superior Conservatory in Paris.

Concerts

She has performed with prestigious orchestras and international ensembles dedicated to historical performance practice, such as: Le Concert des Nations, Les Arts Florissants, Le Concert Français, Gli Incogniti, la Assamblée des Honnestes Curieux, Vespres d’Arnadí, Al Ayre Español, l’Orquestra Barroca Catalana, la Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, El Concierto Español, Academia 1750, Concerto Soave, Le Café Zimmerman, La Fenice, among others. She has also recorded for labels like Alia Vox, Arsis, Harmonia Mundi, Alpha, Mirare, and Zig-Zag Territoires.

Career

In 2001, she founded the Albada Quartet, a group with which she was associated until 2010.

She served as co-artistic director of the Berga Early Music Festival in 2009 and 2010.

Teaching

In the field of education, she is a violin and chamber music teacher at the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory of the Girona Provincial Council. Since 2007, she has been teaching baroque violin at the Aula de Música Antigua, a programme promoted by the same conservatory, with students coming from various parts of Spain and abroad.

Currently, she is a professor of baroque violin at ESMUC.
