He was born in Granollers, trained at the Conservatory of the city with Josep M. Roger, then with Albert Attenelle Barcelona School of Music with Christopher Elton and Nelly Akopian and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he graduated with highest distinction 1992.

He has won numerous first prizes in national and international competitions. He has performed in major concert halls and festivals in Spain and in most European countries both in piano recitals as part of chamber music groups. He also often acts as a soloist with major orchestras in the country.

Qualified by the prestigious American critic Harold C. Schomberg as "a solid and intelligent pianist," Jordi Maso's repertoire includes music from all eras, with special emphasis on twentieth century music, having performed many works by major composers.

He has made over forty recordings, unanimously praised by critics worldwide, among which include four discs with the complete piano works of Frederic Mompou for the Naxos label, which has sold over 50,000 copies around the world, the comprehensive piano Robert Gerhard, Joaquim Homs, José Antonio Donostia and Benet Casablancas by record Naxos / Marco Polo and the complete piano works of Ricard Lamote de Grignon and Joan Massià by Anacrusi.

He is currently recording the integral of Joaquin Turina and Xavier Montsalvatge for Naxos. He has recorded for ASV, Stradivarius, Column Music, among others.
He teaches piano at the Conservatory of Granollers and at Esmuc and from 1996 he is member of the group Barcelona 216 dedicated to the diffusion of contemporary music. In 2008 he was awarded by the Associated Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in London, award given by this institution to their most prominent students.
