Ivet Frontela

Ivet Frontela was born in Havana, Cuba where she received her musical training at the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. Her outstanding musical talent was soon recognised and subsequently Ivet was awarded numerous first prizes at national and international piano competitions. In 1995, Ivet Frontela became a professor of piano and piano history at the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba,theNational School of Arts and the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory in Havana.

Ivet Frontela now lives and works in Barcelona, Spain where she follows an intensive career as a solo performer, accompanist and music educator. Her wide repertoire includes J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Schumann, Villalobos and Ginastera, as well as the music of numerous Latin American and Cuban composers. As a performer and lecturer she has travelled extensively throughout Europe and South America.

Her profound knowledge of the different characteristics and stylistic elements in music, as well as her devotion to the deep search for a natural interpretation is always evident in her performances.
