I'm a student and I might have COVID. What should I do?

If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or if you have been in close contact with a positive case, please take the following steps:

1 Immediately notify the School via info.covid 19@esmuc.cat.
Esmuc will contact me to find out about my situation and follow up on the case.
2 I isolate myself at home, in a well-ventilated room and taking extreme hygiene measures.
3 I call the CAP (primary care center) that corresponds to my address, or 061 Salut Respon (after hours). In case of symptoms, my doctor will evaluate the need for a PCR.
4 I tell my teachers that I will be absent from face-to-face classes and assess the possibility of continuing online teaching during preventive isolation.
5 I cancel my classroom reservations through: espais@esmuc.cat
6 I follow the instructions of Canal Salut (Health Channel) and the ones I have received from my CAP.

How COVID-19 manifests

The symptoms are similar to those of the flu (cough, fever, headache, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, muscle pain). COVID can also cause a sensation of shortness of breath and / or loss of the sense of taste and smell.

You can consider yourself close contact if:

  • you have provided cures to a positive case.
  • you have been within 2 meters of a case (cohabitants, visitors, other students or teachers) and for more than 15 minutes.
  • you have traveled by plane, train or other long-distance means of transport, within a radius of two seats around a positive case (whenever it is possible to access the passenger identification).

For everyone's safety, act responsibly.
