Vicens PRATS was born in Palamos (Catalorna-Spain) and lives in Paris. 11e is Firsi F/utc Soloist of the Orchestre de Paris with Christoph Eschenbach as its Music Director. 11e has worked with conductors such as Sir Georg Solti, CarloMaria Giulini, Pierre Boulez, Lorin Maazel, James Conlon - under whose baton he performed the Jacques Ibert Flute Concerto at Salle Pleyel - Kurt Sanderling, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Franz Bruggen, Christoph Von Dohnanyi, Daniel Barenboim, Seji Ozawa, Wolfgang Sawallîsch, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Sakari Oramo , Bernard Haitink, etc.
he has played as a soloist with the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National de Toulouse - where he was the First Solo flautist for 4 years -, the Polish National Chamber Orchestra, the Guîldhall Strings Ensemble, the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra, the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, the Zagreb Soloists, the Franz Liszt Orchestra of Budapest, the Emporda Chamber Orchestra, Paris Orchestra, etc...
Vicens Prats was rewarded prizes at important international competitions: in Kobe (Japan) and the «Maria Canais» Competition in Barcelona. He was unanimously voted first prizes in Flute and Chamber Music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musiqe et de Danse de Paris and studied under Michel Debost, Aurèle Nicolet, Alain Marion, Jean-Pierre Rampai and Christian Lardé.
Vicens Prats has an intense schedule performing as a chamber musician, as a soloist and as a teacher giving Masterclasses for over 15 years in several different countries (Japan, Italy, Portugal, France, Croatia etc.). These include regular courses for members of the National Youth Orchestras of Catalonia and Spain. 11e is an outstanding pedagogue and lecturer at Youth and Family concerts.
He is actually teacher in the Escola Supêrior de Musica de Catalunya in Barcelona (Spain) and
member of th Supêr World Orchestra.
