Daniel Carbonell

Professor of gralla and dolçaina
Daniel Carbonell Sugranyes teaches gralla I dolçaina. He works for the dissemination and teaching of these instruments. Graduate ESMUC in historical oboes, has specialized in xeremia and baixonets. Now he is part of the music and dance company Xuriach.
He has been a pioneer in the recovery of the tarota wih the group Bufalodre and founded the Cobla de Tarotes del Ball de Cavallets de Reus I el Quartet Mantuano. With the Ganxets, grallers of Baix Camp has worked to recover the long gralles and the repertoire at the turn of 1900. This group has also made a proposal to update the repertoire of both concert and Cercavila as he was some of the precursors of ball de gralles modern dance. Have published books Música del temps I and II.
He founded groups Metralla de gralles and the rock group La Banda de la Festa Major. He has performed concerts of organ and gralla, has premiered works by contemporary language as Drift Herran, of Ivan Joanals or Antípoda for gralla and electronics, of Joan Bages. Collaborate with Pau Orriols, Xavier Orriols and Ton Munné on the set of instruments and Pere Masalias in building of canyes. He Considers himself as a composer and arranger of necessity and love. He made the music of Lleó, el Ball de Cavallets, la Vibria I la Cucafera de Reus and won the composition contest of Gegants de la casa de Barcelona. He is the founder of l’Aula de sons Escola Música Tradicional. He has participated in the consolidation of the technical bases and pedagogical world of the gralla today.
