Abstract:
One of the most interesting options computers and electronics offer to artists is the idea of creating systems (or potentially worlds) by designing their components, and the inner logic that connects them; in other words designing artificial causalities. This talk will touch on the historical connection between cybernetics and the arts, discuss some very interesting current artists / designers of such systems for music performance, and discuss my own current works, both in music and installation.
